help a penn grad win a free wedding

 Hi guys,

I am penn grad who is currently in grad school and my fiancee and I are trying to win a free wedding from grad school.  We are both in grad school and as you can imagine the cost is pretty prohibitive.  I am hoping that current penn students and alumni will be willing to help.  You can vote through your facebook profile and I promise they will not spam you.  Here is the link : http://www.ultimateweddingcontest.com/entry/102414

Thanks!

ATTN: students with a .edu email address

Amazon is offering a free 1 year subscription to Amazon Prime (Which usually costs $79 a year. Perks include free 2 day shipping, and $3.99 overnight shipping): http://amzn.to/bSH8jP (url shortened with bit.ly)

This is being marketed towards college students but all you need is a valid .edu email address, so teachers and alumni might be able to benefit from this too (though the Terms of Service does say they have the right to ask for proof that you are a current student).

I apologize if you have already heard about this amazing deal. I just want to help spread the word on this before they stop offering it. I am not an employee of Amazon, nor do I gain anything from people signing up for this service.

VAGELOS SCHOLARS

Is this program worth doing? Are the vagelos specific seminars harder to get good grades in? Is it really worth it in the end to graduate with a Masters, or is it a lot of unnecessary work and not much flexibility in picking classes you want?

bike

Hey all, anyone (seniors come to mind) getting rid of a bike? Mine got hit by a car the other day (parked — I wasn't on it), so I need a new one.

I'm looking for something used that'll get me around for a year or so — preferably under $100, but I can go a little over that for the right bike. It'll need to fit a 5'6", average-sized chick, and it doesn't need to be pretty, just functional. I'm heading over to the Bike Church in a bit, and watching Craigslist, but I thought I'd see if anyone here might have any leads.

Thanks!

This Saturday!

The Anvil Experience is coming to Philly on Friday at the Trocadero. For those of you who don't know, the Anvil Experience is where you get to see that new rock-doc called Anvil! The Story of Anvil (which has been called the real life This Is Spinal Tap) and then the band performs a short set immediately following. My friends saw this in NYC and said it was the best thing ever.

tickets are still available here.

Is it possible to take a SEPTA train from NYC to Philadelphia? Does anyone have an approximate price of this..? I've 0 experience with SEPTA. I'm looking for a cheap way to get into Philadelphia from the five boroughs.. Any tips? warnings? advice?

Come see What You Will at Bristol Riverside Theatre!

Life is one big soap opera in Illyria - a country where everyone is very much in earnest, but also a little insane.  The social center of Illyria, Club 12th Night, marks the boundary between games and masquerades and the business of the workaday world, a place where pranks and disguises, playful games and folly rule.

A shipwrecked woman enters the fantastic Club 12th Night, beginning a chain of events that lead to an astonishing conclusion.  Mistaken identities, intrigue, music, a beautiful heiress, merry drunken revelers, and a spiteful servant merge with a hip–hop rhythm in Shakespeare’s enchanting tale of revelry and love. Hopeless romantics will be captivated and pranksters will discover the ultimate joke.

Directed by BRT's Artistic Director, Keith Baker and Donald Byrd, acclaimed Broadway choreographer (The Color Purple) and Artistic Director of Seattle's Spectrum Dance Theater.  Original hip-hop score by Justin Ellington.  Set and Costumes designed by Hiroshi Iwasaki, Lighting designed by Ryan O'Gara

My friend who's in premed dropped out of vagelos because she said the coursework was too science based. I'm under the impression that courses you can take are very restricted, and yes, the work is…

I have a bike I picked up for $50 at Target that I was just going to leave on the street when I move out, since I'm moving cross-country. One of the tires has a flat, but I have a spare tube for it…

    Yes.

What you need to do is figure out where the nearest train station to you is and hope it's NJ transit. Take NJ Transit up to Trenton, then take Septa Regional Rail to 30th Street Station. You're…
