Feature Request
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe:
This is a really minor nit, but the EXPLAIN output on binary strings is different from what I expected:
CREATE TABLE t1 (
id INT NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY auto_increment,
b varchar(255) not null,
c varbinary(255) not null,
index (b),
index (c)
);
INSERT INTO t1 (b,c) VALUES ('a', 'a'),('b
When adding a new data store database in Metabase it tries to connect first with SSL (if the driver supports SSL), and then without, in that order. If either connection succeeds, the database details are accepted as valid. Yes, you can add driver specific JDBC options to use SSL, but there is no good feed

@madAndroid was kind enough to provide instructions on how to configure Redash with Auth0/SAML on the forum: https://discuss.redash.io/t/auth0-integration/586/5.
We should port this over to the Knowledge Base (either as a section in the Authentication Options page or a dedicated one).
I am making a health check endpoint for kubernetes (google cloud's service to host containerized applications) for my mySql application.
right now I am using this package https://www.npmjs.com/package/health-check-mysql
But is there something built into the package itself, something like a isConnected method. ie:
connection.isConnected() ? throw new Error('not connected to mysql') : null

Sometimes it is needed to store compressed data in the DB. Unfortunately not all the DBs have built-in compression and FUSE compressed FSes are not available for every OS. So it may make sense to store compressed binary blobs in the DB.
Unfortunately when one sees them in DBeaver he sees them compressed, but often they are needed uncompressed. So it'd be nice to have a feature to decompress the

Hi guys, welcome!
Background
ShardingSphere 5.x will present itself with new valuable features and simple configuration API to our community.
We will provide many of build-in sharding algorithms to users, which means uses can choose a proper one from sharding-algorithm selections before implementing the interface of the sharding algorithm themselves.

docker/test/run.sh

The script is trying to mount /dev/log
that doesn't exist on macOS. We should probably use /var/run/syslog
.
Reproduction Steps
Run docker/test/run.sh mysql57 "make build"

For now the only way to add TLS validation is though code with RegisterTLSConfig. With providing certificate path though DSN (like pq is doing it) all existing applications will receive TLS certificate validation out of the
Multi-line queries have a prompt_continuation (or not currently, due to issue 681, but that's beside the point). But even with prompt_continuation set to an empty string, it starts the next line indented, even when it's just due to wrapping at the edge of the terminal window:

If I were to deploy cube.js using AWS serverless architecture, is athena required?
The docs https://cube.dev/docs/deployment#serverless do not mention whether Athena is optional or required. But when reading it, I assume it is required because there are athena keys in the serverless.yml config. I'm evaluating the idea of using Postgres RDS as the sole datasource for cubejs.

A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

Not really an issue, but rather another use of the tool that could be advertised in the documentation.
We have slaves that have discrepancies (missing rows, rows with some different values) as highlighted by a very long run of pt-table-checksum. We tried fixing these tables with pt-table-sync with no success.
By running gh-ost on a master using RBR (does not work with statement based replica
Let's support at least reading "b3" header from a single string, most commonly traceid-spanid-1
It would also be nice to support optionally writing this, especially in message providers or others with constrained environments.
Expected behavior
As discussed on openzipkin/b3-propagation#21 and first implemented here: https://github.com/openzipkin/brave/blob/master/brave/src/main/java/bra
We already have most of our Directus API 2.x endpoints/params within Paw for testing. We could finish adding all of these and then potentially use their code generators to create SDKs for our secondary languages.
https://paw.cloud/docs/extensions/create-code-generator
We also have a Swagger file for 98% of API 1.1 — so we could update that (and make sure that OpenAPI allows for our filteri

Currently PyMySQL determines SSL/TLS verify_mode automatically here. https://github.com/PyMySQL/PyMySQL/blob/master/pymysql/connections.py#L337
Related issues: (it is not a PyMySQL bug.) PyMySQL/PyMySQL#430
My suggestion is to add configuration so that users can specify any of the verify_mode (ssl.CERT_NONE, ssl.CERT_OPTIONAL, ssl.CERT_REQUIRED) defined in ssl.py.
Introduction
It seems the API-description for "fetch" does not match the actual behaviour and the changelog information.
Issue Description
In the API description for "fetch"
https://bookshelfjs.org/api.html#Collection-instance-fetch
it reads
If you wish to trigger an error if the fetched collection is empty, pass {require: true} as one of the options to the fetch call

Given that we support CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
, the lack of CURRENT_DATE
feels like an omission. While you can hack it with date(now)
, I keep finding myself wishing there was a direct way to reference this. Given that now
means CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
, I think there's precedent for today
meaning CURRENT_DATE
. This is supported by all backends we support (and is in the ISO standard I believe).
