As you can see, the IndexedSet is almost like a UniqueList, retaining only one copy of a given value, in the order it was first added.

This appears incorrect. Perhaps it is a remnant from an earlier version of the library?

(e.g - macOS):

1. Create a section with installation steps:

• brew install cmake autoconf libtool gcc automake openssl
• export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/usr/local/opt/openssl/lib/pkgconfig"

2. Update README.MD
3. Update build.sh(force linking openssl doesn't work anymore)

I've wasted a lot of time trying to resolve openssl dependency issue, by applying solutions which are not relevant any

The methods in ProtectedData.cs are very misleading.

Instead of returning the original data they should throw an exception explaining that they are shims and not intended to be used as-is without overriding.

Since my test is a very few steps beyond the "Hello World" of your amazing CacheManager I'm pretty sure I'm failing somewhere but I'm totally blind and I can't get out of it by myself.

As the Issue title says, using the Extension.Caching I'm not able to catch any eviction event, here there is my test code, if you switch the two handles (commented / uncommented) everything works as expected.
