Also want to ping this... would be very useful to be able to be notified of releases, but not all the activity as there is too much activity with most of our repos.

Is this a duplicate of #6426?

I want to do this. Can I do this? Who is responsible for accepting requests, will I have any problems when contributing?

@truefolder feel free to implement it.

Who is responsible for accepting requests

You need to find two maintainers that will approve your PR. The chance that I will be one of them is fairly high. Also, in case your PR will not have had activity for a long time, feel free to ping the maintainer team (@go-gitea/maintainers) or even better the people who already commented on your PR that are a member of this team in a GitHub message. Unfortunately, large PRs often sink into oblivion, simply because new PRs are always coming, and the large PRs are ignored due to all of us being volunteers and that we have by far not enough reviewers.

will I have any problems when contributing?

Depends on your knowledge level. If you have development questions, simply ask them in our discord develop channel.
