Certain jQuery commands have been absorbed into JS; for others, JS has superseded the need. I suggest that a friendly neighborhood transition guide be given that identifies those jQuery commands that can be quickly rewritten plainly as JS, as well as those that are simply better kept as jQuery.
An effort should also be made to review the jQuery JS and update it.
