It is likely this has been overlooked but it's also likely that it wasn't added to prevent any sort of muddying up a guide meant to only serve with marketing content, and if it's the latter feel free to close!

Can we add a section or mention for GitHub Sponsors as a way for open source contributors to get paid for their work? I would love to add a mention or even a few user stories, but I'm not sure how to gather user stories the same way we did when we created this content. I'd love any guidance if this seems like something worth mentioning 😄
