Current implementation of join can be improved by performing the operation in a single call to the backend kernel instead of multiple calls.

Dear all,
Since the tools were updated in github action CI machines, all existing PRs blocked due to CI failed. We have fixed it in volcano-sh/volcano#1595. You can rebase from master branch and submit PRs again. THX.
I often use -v

We can just factor out the code from futhark bench

The documentation for the function shmem_wait
seems inconsistent with the function signatures as it describes parameters target
, pe
, and value
that are actually not part of the interface. The parameter ivar
is described but at least in the C interface the variable is named var
(without the prefix i
).

The envml
tool that ends up in Modules/bin/
seems quite useful but does not show up in the documentation (apart from the Release Notes: https://modules.readthedocs.io/en/latest/NEWS.html?highlight=envml).

There's a post going around on Twitter for how to write a super fast DFA, e.g. for UTF8 validation: https://twitter.com/_rsc/status/1413843059972923394?s=19. We have a UTF8 validation function, so we should try this technique. Should be reasonably simple to do.
