The IETF has documented why they're going to make their decisions in "the interest of end users".

The document is called RFC8890 and can be read at https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8890

Its author, Mark Nottingham, gave a fantastic keynote on the topic at last SymfonyCon, it's worth watching!

I won't paraphrase the document, so please read it before commenting here.

I'm opening this issue to ask the Symfony core team to consider adding this RFC as one of its core policies, next to the BC policy, the CoC, the security policy, etc.
