TypeScript

TypeScript is an open source programming language developed by Microsoft and first released in 2012. It is designed to add type safety to JavaScript while conforming as closely as possible to the syntax and semantics of the ECMAScript standard.
It is a syntactical superset of the JavaScript programming language; all valid JavaScript source code is also valid TypeScript source code, but not vice-versa. TypeScript compiles (or transpiles) to JavaScript, meaning that it can be utilized to target any JavaScript environment. It can be used to develop JavaScript for both client-side and server-side applications.

I noticed it in 4.4.2, but it seems to have happened in some form since 3.3.2 (oldest available on the playground).
The behavior appeared to change slightly after 4.2.3. (See playground link for details).

Problem to solve
I have a stepped process where the user enters a name for a new object. The validation state of this step relies on name existing. My goal is for the step to be in error when there is no error and not in error when the user has entered an error.
The problem is that when the stepper screen comes up, this step is in error immediately. Good UI design dictates that the step s

I'm making a client-side code editor with rudimentary Git support, and syntax highlighting for diff/patch files would be really nice - a way to view the whole diff in a single window (alternative to existing diffeditor - with similar colors to git diff
console coloring), maybe would be useful for others too.

Issue Type: Bug
Visual Studio shows a notification "Restart Visual Studio Code to apply the latest update." Previously when clicking "Update Now" VSCode would automatically restart. However currently it only exits and doesn't manage to restart itself. Manually starting VSCode after this (running
code .
) starts the current version of VSCode (not the updated version) which again shows
