GitHub IP allow lists are planned to be in beta on GHAE through Q3 of 2021 and will be generally available by the end of the calendar year.
Intended Outcome
GHAE customers require similar protections to cloud customers in GHEC. We currently cover allow list protections with Azure network security groups, but customers do not have direct access to configure those themselves -- They must reach out through a support flow. GitHub IP allow lists grants enterprise and organization owners the ability configure allow lists without the aid of GitHub Support.
How will it work?
The functionality available will be equivalent to that of the existing GHEC capability. It will work as a customer-managed allow list separate from the Azure network security groups that can be configured through a support request flow.
