• For java it is possible to test the added logic via https://github.com/github/codeql/blob/main/java/ql/test/library-tests/dataflow/external-models/steps.ql. You will need to add a new test method and then add a generated flow summary model and manual neutral model to steps.ext.yml.
• Could you also make the corresponding implementation for C# (it should be completely symmetric) to the keep the logic between java and C# aligned?
• For C# there is an extra test https://github.com/github/codeql/blob/main/csharp/ql/test/library-tests/dataflow/external-models/ExternalFlow.ql (next to steps.ql) compared to java (which test source to sink flow). I would be great, if tests are updated such that both steps.ql and ExternalFlow.ql test the changes.
