A warm welcome.
I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the new Chairman of Harrow Heritage Trust. Harrow’s heritage and history is very important to me.
We have some of the finest Conservation Areas, Metropolitan Open Land and Green Belt. These precious areas need our protection as well as the built environment of our Borough, which unfortunately has been radically changed owing to many high-rise buildings springing up in the last decade in our Town Centre area.
We cannot put the clock back, but we can draw a line under it when it comes to our leafy suburbs where tall buildings would out of character. I will do my best to preserve and enhance the character of Harrow both as HHT Chairman and as the Portfolio Holder for Planning and Regeneration on the Council.’
