Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall in the Central U.S.

Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are forecast over parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, and west Texas today and tonight, with damaging winds and large hail possible. A cold front pressing south across the central Plains will collide with moist southerly winds on Thursday bringing a risk for heavy to excessive rainfall and flooding. Read More >

Gusty east winds will develop on Thursday, lasting into Friday morning. Most locations across western Montana and north central Idaho will see gusts 20 to 30 mph, with exposed higher terrain in western Montana seeing gusts of 35 mph. The main impact will be to small water craft on area lakes due to choppy conditions. If wind is a concern for you, continue to monitor the forecast and consider securing outdoor items.
